Clear Creek Community Church has begun working with a new local Go Op, Anchor Point Pregnancy Care Center. Anchor Point’s mission for the Bay Area is to be a source of hope for women, unborn children, and families experiencing an unplanned pregnancy or struggling with past abortions, by offering pregnancy education and support coupled with the love of Christ and the redemptive truth of the Gospel.
Anchor Point offers many services and programs through the work at the center; free pregnancy tests, crisis counseling, adoption information, healthy relationship education, abortion recovery programs, parenting classes, and small group support. For many of their classes and educational materials, they offer “Baby Bucks,” which allow clients to purchase clothes and necessities for their baby. Through all of their programs, they seek to provide specific help for the individual circumstances of each clients, which is rooted in an opportunity to encounter Christ.
Megan Lagoy learned about the work Anchor Point is doing in July 2011, and immediately decided that she wanted to get involved. She is close to completing her volunteer training, which will allow her to teach some of the educational classes. She also is the CCCC Go Leader for our cooperation with Anchor Point.
Anchor Point currently has many needs that could be filled by both groups and individuals:
For groups wanting to get involved:
–Purchase and install cabinets in several locations at the center.
–Sort and organize donated items.
–Deep clean the facility (once a month).
–Donate 50 18-gallon Rubbermaid storage containers.
For individuals wanting to get involved:
–Teach the “Share Jesus Without Fear” class for new Anchor Point Volunteers.
–Clean the facility (weekly).
–Organize the House Beautifier team.
–Create and donate a vinyl logo for the office wall.
If you or your group are interested in helping out with any of these needs at Anchor Point, or would like to find out about additional ways to help out, please contact Megan Lagoy at megan.lagoy@gmail.com.
