Crisis Pregnancy Support Center (CPSC) is now partnering with Lighthouse Christian Ministries (LCM) to “battle” the largest Planned Parenthood building that is planting here in Houston. Beginning soon, the pregnancy center will be providing services to pregnant and parenting mothers of children up to age 3 on Thursdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm at LCM. As it expands, the hope would be to offer nights and weekends, as well; however, currently, there is a great need for volunteers that will be able to help operate the program on Thursdays. As a result, CPSC and LCM will be hosting a volunteer information session this Tuesday, April 20th at 1:00pm at LCM (800 Grand Avenue (St Rd 646), Bacliff).

The Crisis Pregnancy Support Center is an outreach ministry of local churches; which demonstrates the unconditional love and compassion of Jesus Christ in our community – a demonstration of God’s power to meet the needs of those who are drawn by God to the CPSC. The CPSC is committed to offering encouragement and practical assistance to women of all ages who are involved in a potential crisis pregnancy. We are committed to assisting moms through the transitional years of parenting until her child turns 3 years old. While utilizing the provisions of God’s people and the greater community, the CPSC will, within its ability and resources, offer physical, emotional and spiritual help, as well as practical assistance to all pregnant and parenting moms.

CPSC’s main program is called Earn as you Learn and it offers over 300, 30-minute to 1-hour-long courses in prenatal care, parenting, and spiritual development. Each course is assigned a point value and the mothers can use the points to earn “Baby Bucks” and buy baby products for their baby. The products include everything from diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, to items for sale in our resale shop like clothes, baby furniture, etc.

As imagined, volunteers are needed in all areas of the program. Anyone is welcome; however, we do have a great need for Spanish-speaking volunteers.

Opportunities to be involved are as follows:

• Guidance/ Spiritual counseling: On-the-job training provided
• Teaching classes: Curriculum and training will be provided
• Babysitting: While moms attend classes
• Office/ Administrative help: Intake Paperwork, answer telephone
• Organize a baby shower in your small group and donate items for the Earn as Learn Program.
