Hello! My name is Jori Turner and I am 17 years old. I am currently attending/ about to graduate from Lutheran South Academy. I have lived in Houston Texas for about ten years, and have been attending CCCC for about nine. I would never have gotten this far without the love, help and support from my wonderful family. Ever since I was young I loved helping other people, whether it was playing doctor or just simply helping pick up toys. God has blessed me throughout my entire life, and all I want to do is share that with others. I had been on a few community mission trips, but never one in a different country, until June of 2008. Before I had gone on this mission trip, I had made the decision of taking a year off before college to do some type of foreign exchange. I never thought I would be called to go to Ukraine, truthfully I always imagined myself in a Latin American country. When I went to Ukraine for that lifechanging week I fell in love, with the people, the culture, and especially the determination from the group. As the group invited the American team back for however long we wanted, God told me this is where I should be. Now that I am returning for a full year, leaving June 9th, I will be communicating back and forth between the Ukrainian team and here at CCCC. I will also be planning the intennerarys for the short-term groups going from our church, working with ESL, Awanna, drama programs, ect. But first and formost my number one goal is to reach the lost with Jesus’ light.
Stay tuned to track with Jori in Ukriane!
